Repair Service Agreement

Updated Release: July 18, 2025

General TermsScope of Work

This agreement covers requested repair(s) for the device listed above. Services may include, but are not limited to, screen replacements, battery or power component replacement, port repair, software troubleshooting, cleaning, diagnostics, and other hardware or software services.

General Liability & Limitations (applies to ALL devices)

  • Techquila Freelancing Inc. is not responsible for data loss, performance changes, or unintended consequences arising during or after the repair.
  • Any repairs will void manufacturer or extended warranties unless performed by an authorized service provider.
  • Warranty applies only to the replaced part and does not cover new physical damage, liquid damage, or unrelated component failure.
  • Repair timelines and part availability may vary.

Mobile Device Limitations

  • Opening devices that were originally sealed (e.g., smartphones, tablets, or smartwatches) will compromise waterproofing or water resistance. While adhesives may be applied to reseal the unit, original IP ratings (e.g., IP67/IP68) are not restored. Client acknowledges the device should no longer be considered water-resistant.

Non-Mobile Device Terms

Non-Mobile Limitations & Risks

These terms apply to laptops, desktops, printers, smart TVs, and other non-mobile devices submitted for repair or service.

Laptops & Desktops

  • Repairs involving internal components (e.g., logic boards, fans, RAM, SSDs, power supplies) require full or partial disassembly.
  • Devices may exhibit performance changes post-repair, including changes in temperature, fan behavior, or boot times.
  • Thermal paste or pads may be replaced, which may affect fan cycles.
  • Software reinstalls may result in the loss of programs or files; clients are responsible for data backup unless otherwise arranged.
  • Client acknowledges that some manufacturers restrict BIOS/firmware changes or third-party parts, which may limit full compatibility.

Smart TVs

  • Smart TV repairs may include power supply repairs, LED backlight repair, T-Con board replacement, or mainboard resets.
  • Cracked displays or damaged backlight panels may not be fully restorable, even after component replacement.
  • Manufacturer parts are often limited or unavailable; in such cases, refurbished or compatible parts may be used.
  • Certain TV models may exhibit picture degradation, color shift, or uneven brightness post-repair.

Printers

  • Repairs may include paper feed roller cleaning, cartridge sensor resets, firmware resets, or scanner calibration.
  • Clients acknowledge that non-OEM ink or toner cartridges may void the printer's manufacturer warranty.
  • Techquila Freelancing Inc. is not responsible for firmware incompatibilities or blocked functions due to third-party cartridges.
  • Some printers require reinitialization or region settings that may not be restorable after repair.
  • Parts may be sourced from third-party vendors or recycled units due to limited OEM part availability.

iOS Device-Specific Terms

iOS Device-Specific Limitations & Risks

  • Face ID Disclaimer: iPhones with Face ID (e.g., iPhone X and newer) contain sensitive front assembly components. Face ID may cease functioning after repairs even with care. Techquila Freelancing Inc. is not liable for Face ID failure caused during or after repair.
  • True Tone Loss: Replacing the screen on iPhones may result in the permanent loss of the True Tone feature unless data from the original screen is transferred. This is not always possible.
  • Battery Service Warnings: iPhones may display a “Service” warning or lose Battery Health data after third-party battery installation. This does not affect performance but is a known Apple limitation.
  • AppleCare or Manufacturer Warranty: Repairing your device with Techquila Freelancing Inc. may void AppleCare or manufacturer warranties. We recommend verifying your warranty status before proceeding.
  • iOS Update Risks: Software updates may impact aftermarket parts. We are not liable for display, battery, or sensor malfunctions after system updates.

Android Device-Specific TermsAndroid Device-Specific Limitations & Risks

  • Due to the wide range of Android device models, some aftermarket parts may vary. These do not affect overall function.
  • Battery Replacement Risks: Battery replacements involve handling sensitive components. While great care is taken, there is a small risk of battery puncture or shorting, which may cause heat, swelling, or smoke. Techquila Freelancing Inc. is not liable for issues caused by third-party battery behavior after installation (e.g., rapid drain, software errors).
  • Camera/Rear Housing Repairs: Repairs involving back glass, housing, or rear cameras may cause misalignment, dust intrusion, or loss of optical image stabilization (OIS). Camera focus issues can occur, especially on models with tight tolerances.
  • Audio Repairs or Flex Cable Transfers: Repairs involving the earpiece speaker, charging port, volume/power buttons, or mic require transferring flex cables or soldering. These parts are fragile and can fail during or shortly after repair. We are not responsible for functionality loss due to existing damage or age.
  • Signal & Sensor Issues: After any repair involving the logic board, antenna, or sensor components, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, or proximity sensing may not perform identically. These functions rely on factory calibration, and Techquila Freelancing Inc. cannot guarantee identical performance post-repair.
  • Wireless Charging: While we do our best to preserve or replace wireless charging coils, may not be aligned or function as they did originally. Wireless charging is not guaranteed unless explicitly tested post-repair.

Parts & Warranty

  • Parts used may be OEM pull, aftermarket, or refurbished unless otherwise specified.
  • A 30-day functional warranty covers parts and workmanship, excluding physical damage, water damage, or third-party tampering.

Data Responsibility

  • The Client is responsible for backing up their data. Techquila Freelancing Inc. is not liable for data loss due to repair procedures.

Pre-existing Conditions

The Technician will document visible damage prior to repair. Techquila Freelancing Inc. is not responsible for:

  • Latent internal issues that arise during repair.
  • Damage caused by previous unauthorized repairs.

Repair Timeframes

  • Repair times are estimates and not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to part availability, complexity of repair, or unforeseen issues.

Payment Terms

  • A 50% deposit is required upfront, with the remaining balance due upon completion of the repair. Devices will not be released until full payment has been received, unless alternate arrangements have been agreed to in writing.

Liquid Damage Clause

  • Techquila Freelancing Inc. is not responsible for damage resulting from liquid exposure, even if symptoms appear after a repair. Water-damaged devices are unpredictable and may deteriorate further over time.

Legal Disclaimer & Dispute Resolution

  • This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.
  • In the event of any dispute or claim arising from the repair service, the Client agrees to resolve the matter through Small Claims Court in the nearest jurisdiction to Techquila Freelancing Inc.
  • Techquila Freelancing Inc. shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of use, or loss of profit.

Emergency/Rush Repair Clause

  • Rush repairs may incur an additional fee and are subject to part availability and technician capacity. Turnaround times are not guaranteed but prioritized.

No-Fix, No-Fee (beyond the diagnostic fee)

  • If the issue cannot be resolved and no parts were installed, only the diagnostic fee applies. No further fees will be charged.

Screen Quality Disclaimer

  • Screen replacements may vary in quality depending on availability and budget. Clients will be informed prior to repair.

Return Policy for Repaired Devices

  • Once a device is repaired and released to the client, returns or refunds are not accepted except in cases of part or workmanship failure under warranty.

Client-Provided Parts Clause

  • If the client supplies parts, Techquila Freelancing Inc. does not warranty the part and is not liable for incompatibility or damage arising from its use.

Device Pickup Window / Abandonment

  • Devices not picked up within 14 days of repair completion will incur a daily storage fee of $5.00, up to a maximum of 30 days, unless prior arrangements have been made.
  • Any device left unclaimed beyond 30 days from the repair completion date will be considered abandoned. Techquila Freelancing Inc. reserves the right to recycle, repurpose, or responsibly dispose of the device at its discretion.

Tampering & Third-Party Work Post-Repair

  • Any third-party tampering, disassembly, or repair after our service voids all warranties. This includes software modifications, jailbreaking, or additional hardware changes.

Update Risks

  • Software updates may affect device performance or compatibility with replaced parts. Techquila Freelancing Inc. is not responsible for any issues arising after an update.

FRP (Factory Reset Protection) Warning

  • Client is responsible for disabling Factory Reset Protection (FRP) before or after repair if required. Techquila Freelancing Inc. is not responsible for inaccessible devices due to locked Google accounts.

Software-Specific Clauses

  • Software resets or reinstalls may remove third-party programs and data.
  • Driver or firmware incompatibility may limit performance after repairs.

Brand-Specific Clause

  • Client acknowledges that certain manufacturers (e.g., Samsung, Google Pixel, etc.) may restrict repair options or firmware compatibility outside authorized service networks.

Photo Authorization

By proceeding with repair services, the client acknowledges and consents to the following:

  • Techquila Freelancing Inc. may photograph the device before, during, and after service for documentation, training, or marketing purposes.
  • No personal or identifying information will be visible or shared in any published material.
  • These images may be used to demonstrate repair processes or service outcomes on digital platforms or educational materials.

  • Techquila Freelancing Inc. prioritizes client privacy and implements reasonable security measures. However, the client acknowledges that no digital system is completely secure and accepts the inherent risks associated with electronic communication, online transactions, and digital service environments. Clients are responsible for maintaining the security of their own devices, accounts, and networks.
  • The client authorizes Techquila Freelancing Inc. to perform diagnostic services. A non-refundable diagnostic fee of $45.00 applies regardless of the repair outcome. If the client chooses to proceed with the repair, this fee will be credited toward the final service cost.
  • The client understands and accepts that device repairs carry certain risks, including data loss. Clients have the option to request a backup service prior to repair.
  • The client consents to being contacted by phone, text, or email for updates, service confirmations, or follow-ups related to their repair or service.
  • All information provided by the client must be accurate and truthful. Techquila Freelancing Inc. is not liable for errors resulting from incorrect or incomplete information.
  • The client has read and agrees to Techquila Freelancing Inc.’s full service terms and policies, which are made available both in print and online.
